Are you an artist who is tired of relying on your memory, written records, emails, or endless adventures through your computer file folders to help you know which designs are licensed to which client (and for how long!) and which ones are sitting with untapped potential on your hard drive? Have you almost licensed the same design two different places (playing with fire there, friend!)? Have you wished for a way to efficiently manage all of your designs and revenue streams in one place? It’s time to work smarter, not harder. Airtable is a cloud-based database platform with a free entry-level tier. During this class, learn how creating a visual catalog of your work can save you time by helping you license a higher percentage of designs you’ve already made. Bring your file management pain points and learn how Airtable can help you manage your work and revenue streams so you can spend more time focusing on creativity. This is a one-time, live, online zoom meeting. Only register if you can attend at the selected time. Registrations are limited to 15 participants so there is plenty of time for questions. At the end of class, there will be time to begin building your own database. Airtable can pull files from your computer, google drive, box, or dropbox (you’ll be responsible for logging into these services yourself, though I will show you where to do it in class.) With access to your files, you will be able to start building your database in class, and will have time to ask any questions that come up as you do. If you are interested in trying out Airtable for yourself during class, join on a laptop with access to your jpeg design thumbnails. An iPad can work for viewing the provided database, although the reduced screen size may make some things harder to find. You will not be able to actually start editing the database on an iPad. The bulk of the class will be a walkthrough of the software that I will do with my own computer, so if you can't attend on a computer, don’t stress! You’ll still be able to follow along!
